Avoiding Benefit Duplication

Don’t pay twice for the same service!

Added-value benefits such as online health information and Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) are becoming very popular. However with benefit overlaps between different products, employers can find themselves paying two, three or even four times for the same elements of cover.

For example, a lot of Income Protection providers have built EAPs into their plans, and they can also be found in cash plans and medical insurance, making duplication an issue.

Duplication can occur when a company has two or more advisers looking at its group risk and it can lead to employee confusion as to the best source of cover.

This is an area where an Employee Benefits consultancy can take a more holistic view, tailoring benefits to give employers cost-effective products that meet their needs and ensuring that robust employee communication is in place.
